  2. In a  bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add  butter and use a pastry blender or your fingers to work it into the dry ingredients  the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. In a  bowl, whisk together cream, egg, and vanilla extract.
  5. Pour the  ingredients and stir until the dough comes together.
  6. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and gently knead it a  it comes together.
  7. Pat the dough into a circle that is about  thick.
