Ingredients and Quantity:

 

– 2 cups chickpea flour (besan)

– 1 teaspoon salt

– 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

– 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder

– 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder

– 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

– 1/4 teaspoon cumin seeds

– 1/2 cup lukewarm water

– Filling ingredients:

    – 2  potatoes, boiled and mashed

    – 1 large onion, finely chopped

    – 2 cloves garlic, minced

    – 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro

    – 1/4 cup lemon juice

– Vegetable oil for frying

 

Instructions:

 

  1. In a bowl, mix chickpea flour, salt, baking soda, chili powder, garam masala powder, black pepper, and cumin seeds.

2.add lukewarm water to form a smooth batter.

  1. filling by mixing mashed potatoes, chopped onion, garlic, cilantro, and lemon juice.
  2. oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
  3. Using a spoon, drop  portions of the batter into the oil and shape into balls.
  4. Flatten each ball slightly and add a tablespoon of the filling in the center.
  5. the batter over the filling and seal the edges.
  6. Fry until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Serve hot with chutney or raita.
