Ingredients and Quantity:
– 500g split green gram (moong dal)
– 2 cups water
– 1 tablespoon ghee or oil
– 1 small onion, chopped
– 2 cloves garlic, minced
– 1 inch ginger, grated
– 1 teaspoon ground cumin
– 1 teaspoon ground coriander
– 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
– Salt, to taste
– Chopped cilantro, for garnish
Instructions:
- Rinse dal and soak in water for few minutes. and set aside.
- In a pot, ghee or oil over medium heat.
- Add onion, garlic, and ginger and sauté until onion is translucent.
- Add cumin, coriander, turmeric powder, and salt. Mix well.
