🧂 Ingredients:

For Koftas (Meatballs):

  • Beef or mutton mince – 1 kg

  • Onion – 1 medium (finely chopped or ground)

  • Green chilies – 2 (chopped)

  • Ginger garlic paste – 1 tbsp

  • Roasted chickpea flour (bhuna besan) – 2 tbsp

  • Salt – 1 tsp

  • Red chili powder – 1 tsp

  • Coriander powder – 1 tsp

  • Garam masala – ½ tsp

  • Fresh coriander – 2 tbsp (chopped)

For Gravy (Salan):

  • Onions – 2 (thinly sliced)

  • Tomatoes – 3 (blended)

  • Yogurt – ½ cup

  • Ginger garlic paste – 1 tbsp

  • Red chili powder – 1 tsp

  • Turmeric – ½ tsp

  • Coriander powder – 1 tsp

  • Salt – to taste

  • Whole spices (cinnamon stick, black cardamom, cloves) – optional

  • Oil – ¾ cup

  • Water – as needed

  • Fresh coriander – for garnish


🍳 Instructions:

  1. Prepare Koftas: Mix all kofta ingredients, form into smooth balls. Let rest 10–15 minutes.

  2. Gravy Prep: Heat oil, fry onions until golden. Add ginger garlic paste, cook for a minute.

  3. Add tomato puree, yogurt, and dry spices. Cook until oil separates.

  4. Add 1–2 cups water. Gently add koftas to simmering gravy.

  5. Cover and cook on low heat for 25–30 minutes until koftas are tender.

  6. Garnish with fresh coriander and serve hot.
